NetX Version 7.3

NetX 7.3 offers a number of features that will make the lives of administrators much easier.

For a complete list of features and updates, visit the NetX Support Portal.

Enhanced Auditing

New auditing in the NetX system allows administrators to fully immerse themselves in the role of lead detective. The new enhancements make it easier than ever to quickly detail who did what, on a particular date, or at a specific time.

Unrestricted File Formats

NetX has long offered the ability to add custom file formats to the list of the accessible file types that can be ingested into the DAM, but now our team has taken it one step further. In version 7.3, administrators can choose to add a property that will allow any file type to be imported into the NetX system.

CSV User Importer

For those teams without an Active Directory or Single Sign On solution, NetX now offers the option of importing users into the system via a CSV spreadsheet.

SWF Presentations

For those working with SWFs, NetX now has the ability to embed SWF files into a PDF. By adding any number of SWFs to a cart, and using the Action, “Create PDF”, users can then open the PDF in Adobe Reader and view a contact sheet of animated SWFs.

NetX Version 7.2

The new version of NetX continues NetXposure’s commitment to using the DAM as a platform. For a complete list of features and updates, visit the NetX Support Portal.

ConceptShare Pull

For those interested in using the DAM for only finished or approved assets, 7.2 offers the ability to use ConceptShare for work in progress assets. By using ConceptShare for WIP assets, only approved assets will be pulled into the NetX system. The approval process can also kick off an AutoTask in the system to alert users or initiate any number of workflows.

Enhanced Reporting

As a long-time Adobe partner, NetX has added additional reporting options for those using our Creative Suite integration. The NetX Statistics tool now includes the ability to run reports on assets placed into InDesign files through the NetX Connect Panel. Captured information includes when they were placed, and which user placed them.

Additional reporting has also been added to the NetX Download Justification Form. You can read a case study on how Travel Alberta uses the Download Justification Form here.

Asset Request Form

NetX now has the ability to create custom upload forms that can be quickly created and emailed directly from the NetX system. Each form represents a folder in the NetX system, and users can quickly choose whether they want the system to automatically email an individual user or a group of users, when new assets are imported to the folder. Users can also select which metadata fields they want end users to fill out. The system also has the ability to create custom form fields which can be mapped back to system defined metadata fields. In the example below, the value added to the Photographer form field will be mapped to the internal metadata field called Image Credit.

When the form is saved, users can copy and paste the link to the HTML5 upload form, or email it directly from the NetX system. The HTML5 uploader form does not require authentication, and was created to offer a drag and drop solution for teams requiring bulk uploads from a variety of outside sources. The form can be customized to meet branding needs.

NetX Mobile App – iOS and Android

We’re happy to provide a preview of our upcoming mobile app, which is geared towards a common use case: Presentations and Offline Syncing.

The NetX Platform is used by many large organizations as the single “system of Record” for all assets and data – why not let Presenters sync assets directly from the source?! One primary piece that we are addressing with this new app is Offline Presentations: NetX users can synchronize (aka download) any assets directly to their iOS and Android devices. This allows for fantastic Offline presentation capabilities, of image, videos, PDFs, PowerPoint files etc. The user experience is designed for presentation of all asset types and has some specifically cool UI elements for Multi-page documents/decks, where the primary page is shown above a “filmstrip” of all pages in the file.

We’ve gotten great feedback on this app to data, and look forward to formally announcing the launch in the very near future.

NetX 7.1 includes Drupal integration, CMIS support, and ConceptShare Upgrade

NetXposure is pleased to announce version 7.1. This latest release continues down the path of NetX becoming the system of record for all brand assets. The focus of this release is expanding integrations, including better database synchronization tools, ConceptShare, Drupal, CMIS, and upgrades to NetX's new HTML5 interface.

In partnership with Seattle Drupal developers Fuse IQ, NetX is announcing direct integration with Drupal. The new integration allows assets and metadata to be fed from the NetX system into Drupal. The Drupal integration relies largely on NetX’s robust API, which is also getting an update as part of the 7.1 release.

NetXposure now supports CMIS (Content Management Interoperability Services) version 1.1.

“This is yet another example of NetX staying ahead of the curve and supporting open standards,” said NetXposure President, Jason Wehling.

As part of its release, NetX 7.1 offers a new sync feature, which can be tied into any external database — such as TMS (Gallery Systems), Embark, or any other custom database. This sync allows admins to define columns in the external database and map them to specific metadata fields — and determine if they need to be normalized — in the NetX system. The tool can also use multiple columns in the the external database to pinpoint an asset in the NetX system.

“We want to plug NetX into anything our customers use to store data,” said Wehling.

NetX 7.1 offers the second version of NetXposure’s HTML5 public beta. This new release offers expanded features and functions surrounding sharing, uploading, and metadata tagging; adding roughly 30 percent more of the core features of the NetX application into the new HTML5 front end.

An updated integration with ConceptShare, version 4, is also included in the 7.1 release. The new integration makes it easier than ever for enterprise marketers to keep up with the growing demand of easily reviewing, managing and approving work in progress assets. ConceptShare version 4 offers increased collaboration tools, making it easier than ever for teams to stay on the same page throughout the entire lifecycle of an asset.
